Punjab government decides on smart lockdown on Eid-ul-Adha: Lahore, July 26, 2020 (PPI-OT): The Punjab government has decided to launch a smart lockdown on Eid-ul-Adha. Smart lockdown has been decided. According to details, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Punjab Jawed Rafique Malik in which arrangements for smart lockdown and implementation of SOP's in cattle markets were reviewed.
Secretary Primary Health Muhammad Usman Commissioner Lahore, DIG Operations and Secretary Local Government also attended the meeting. The Punjab government has decided to launch a smart lockdown on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha to curb corona while the Deputy Commissioners have been given the power to extend the working hours of cattle markets in the districts.
On the occasion, the Chief Secretary Punjab said that protection of human lives is of utmost importance for the government, adding that shopping activities in the bazaars on Eid-ul-Adha are likely to spread corona, on which the provincial government has decided to lock smart in the public interest. ۔
Children are not allowed in the cattle markets while screening counters have been set up in the cattle markets. It may be recalled there are 91,691 corona patients in Punjab. The number of deaths due to corona virus in Punjab has risen to 2,113. Corona testing capacity in the country has increased to more than 60,000 per day. And 132 testing laboratories are working. Trace, test and quarantine strategies have been working effectively in 30 cities. On the other hand, Chief Secretary Punjab Jawed Rafique Malik said that security has been ordered to be tightened on Eid-ul-Adha and for this purpose IG Police Punjab has been directed for EID prayer gatherings. Fool-proof security arrangements have been ordered.
